Leanne Turvey began curating Schools and Teachers programmes at Tate Modern in 2008, in 2010 becoming Convenor for Schools and Teachers programmes at Tate Modern and Tate Britain in a collaborative job share with ALlice Walton. In this role they head a large cross-site team developing artist-led programmes for teachers and students such as the recent We Forgot The Lot!, Harold Offeh’s Live Art Salon, Alex Schady’s Misguided for the Tanks programme and Natasha Kidd and Jo Addison’s Noticer. Leanne previously worked as Education Coordinator for Camden Arts Centre and Chisenhale Gallery, as Youth Arts Programmer for Look Ahead Housing and Care and as an art teacher in Camden schools. In 2012 she worked with Alice Walton as Learning Programmer for Whitstable Biennale. She has an interest in what artists’ practice can offer pedagogy, working with artists to inform learning contexts.
