First Family Friendly Arts Conference
15 April 2013
Join over 100 arts professionals who have already signed up for a packed day of information about growing your family audiences and insight into best practice in understanding and developing family engagement within the arts sector and beyond.
This event is specially designed for marketing, education, creative learning and outreach staff at visual and performing arts organisations, as well as arts development officers, but will also be valuable for anyone with an interest in understanding and growing family audiences and participants in the arts.
You will find out how your organisation's work can become a highlight of the first Family Arts Festival in October and gain national media attention. Learn how by working with other local cultural organisations on developing family audiences you can access free tools, advice and support from the national programme. Discover how your organisation can gain a nationally recognised badge to reflect your commitment to welcoming families and placing them at the heart of your planning.
Devised in consultation with over 1,000 arts professionals and 2,000 families, the sector-led Campaign will be officially launched with a major one-day event at Birmingham s prestigious Town Hall. As well as getting details of how to take part in the first national Family Arts Festival (18 October - 3 November 2013) and get access to free specialist advice and support for arts organisations in your area, there will be the chance to learn from experts in engaging families from beyond the arts sector.
The Campaign has commissioned new research into what are the key drivers for families involvement in the arts in 2013 and what are the barriers to engagement. This will be the first time this research is publically presented and will give you the chance to question the researchers first hand. A brilliant day of networking opportunities will be rounded-off with a free drinks reception (sponsored by Theatre Tokens).
More details on keynote speakers and an exciting range of break-out sessions will be announced soon.
