Generation Art - Next stop Isle of Wight!

Generation ART's stay in Leicester has come to an end, and it's time to look forward to the final stop of the exhibition tour - Quay Arts on the Isle of Wight!

Generation ART Young Artists on Tour
19 March - 7 May 2016
The West Gallery, Quay Arts
Newport Harbour, Isle of Wight
10am – 4pm, Monday – Saturday (gallery closed Sundays)

Opening on Saturday 19 March, Generation ART includes a total of forty artworks by children and young people ages 5 to 18 years old, four of whom are from the Isle of Wight; William John Morris, Oliver Bonner, Megan Smith and Max Snudden.

Throughout March and April Quay Arts will host a series of free family drop-ins and workshops for schools across the Island inspired by Generation ART: Young Artists on Tour, encouraging local audiences, especially families, to get involved.

In addition, Quay Arts has commissioned visual artist Lisa Traxler to create a new exhibition titled ‘Cloud Collecting‘ in The Curve Gallery inspired by the touring show and young people’s work. The commissioned artwork will open at the same time as the touring exhibition on Saturday 19 March. After which, St George’s School will create a new ‘response’ exhibition in The Curve Gallery with Island artists Hannah George and Ian Whitmore which will open on Saturday 23 April. Coinciding with this, Red Tie Theatre group will perform a new piece of live theatre to celebrate the Generation Art project.
