Network and build your profile
"engage plays a critical role in the development of access and learning initiatives and in their facilitation of networking between professionals."
engage member
- The Area Group network in England and the separate meetings in Scotland and Wales mean that members can build closer relations with their colleagues in their own region. Each regional event is an opportunity to network.
- Stand to become an engage representative and take your involvement in policymaking to the next level. Representatives are members of engage's Council and have a strategic input into the development of the organisation.
- The online member finder, forum, and Educator Locator directory give you visibility among your peers and let you keep in touch with colleagues.
- The engage Annual International Conference brings people together from all sectors of gallery education and from many countries. The event - discounted for members - includes more informal events such as meals and visits, that encourage networking.
Resources, toolkits and more
- Gain access to toolkits, developed from previous successful research projects with a variety of gallery users, to guide you through implementing best practice in your own work.
- The twice-yearly Journal is issue-based around the latest discussion topics and trends in gallery and arts education. Members receive a copy by post and will shortly be able to download articles as PDFs online.
- Case studies from engage's action research programmes into effective ways of opening up visual arts to the public, are sources of both practical ideas and inspiring advocacy to gain support and funds for your own projects.
- The engage Resource, currently housed at Iniva's Stuart Hall Library, is a unique collection of documents dating from the beginnings of Gallery Education in the 1970s to the present. Members can donate their own reports and publications, which are promoted through the engage website and emails. Members and the public can access the collection on a reference-only basis to support their research.
