Engage successful in application for Arts Council England funding

Engage is delighted to announce that it has been included as an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation as a Sector Support Organisation for 2018-22 with a grant of £229,806 per annum. Engage is grateful for the continued support of Arts Council England in what remains a critical time for the arts and education.

Engage looks forward to continuing to support the UK’s vibrant gallery education sector, as well as our colleagues in galleries and museums around the world.” Lesley Butterworth, Chair, Engage.

Engage is the lead advocacy and training network for gallery education.  We support arts educators, organisations and artists to work together with communities in dynamic, open exchanges that give everyone the opportunity to learn and benefit from the arts.

Director of Engage Jane Sillis said: “We are delighted that Engage has been successful in our application for NPO funding. Our thanks to our members, particularly our Council for their continued support and hard work. Our thoughts are with those receiving less favourable news today.”

Highlights of Engage’s future programme include:

Children’s Art Week, an annual event which celebrates children and young people engaging with art and artists. This month 120 events took place across the UK.

The Extend leadership programme for colleagues working in the arts and cultural sector.

The Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award, an artist commission and the Max Reinhardt Literacy Award both funded by the Max Reinhardt Charitable Trust.

The Marsh Awards for Excellence in Gallery Education, funded by the Marsh Christian Trust.
