FAQs

What is Generation ART?

Generation ART is a national touring exhibition of art by young people aged five to eighteen, supported by a special programme of creative opportunities. The idea behind Generation ART was for children and young people to be involved in a high quality exhibition at every stage, as curators, artists, audiences and champions. By profiling high quality artwork by children and young people, Generation ART strives to raise the aspirations of schools, teachers and of children and young people, and inspire them to create excellent artwork.

How could it benefit my venue?

Quay Arts was the final venue for Generation ART: Young Artists on Tour; which allowed the team to benefit from all the learning and enriching of the exhibition which had emerged at the previous venues. Throughout March and April 2016, including the Easter holidays, the exhibition was the prompt and inspiration for a series of free family drop ins and workshops for schools across the Island inspired by Generation ART.

Jacqui Cusack, Arts Manager at Quay Arts, explains why working in partnership is important for island arts organisations, and young people.
