About Engage

Engage is the lead advocacy and training network for gallery education.

Established in 1989 as the National Association for Gallery Education, Engage represents gallery and visual art education professionals throughout the UK and in over 20 countries worldwide.

We support arts educators, organisations, freelancers and artists to work together with communities in dynamic, open exchanges that give everyone the opportunity to learn and benefit from the arts.

Through our advocacy work and programming, Engage makes the case for access to and resources for visual arts and gallery education across the UK. We believe that, regardless of location or social circumstance, everyone should have access to the visual arts.

We recognise the vital role that Engage plays in supporting and developing the gallery education sector. At a time when many education teams in galleries are under threat, whilst the need for support for the arts in schools is ever-increasing, Engage provides essential CPD, networking and leadership for colleagues across the UK.
