Engage International Conference 2018

About the programmer

2018 Conference Programmer Jessica Akerman is an artist and arts administrator, working on the production and programming of art events. She studied French and History of Art at UCL and Sculpture at Chelsea College of Art and Design. She works part-time at The Courtauld Institute of Art as an Events Producer, coordinating the dissemination of art historical research. Her own practice explores social and historical narratives, from the experiences of women's lives and work, to the aesthetics of military structures and the documentation of urban gentrification. She was a Lead Artist for Processions in Cardiff, and is making a series of Suffrage Patches throughout 2018, celebrating the centenary of women's suffrage in the UK.
