Frances Bossom

Frances’ practice involves working as an artist, facilitator, educator, consultant and producer. Since graduating in 1995 she has moved back and forth between these roles, often mediating institutions, communities. and place. Underpinning Frances’ practice is the desire to engage people to question and look at everyday things or situations in new ways. By disrupting expectations, she believes it can be possible to view what already exists with a fresh eye and so make space for thinking and doing in subtly different ways.

Recent freelance commissions and projects include; devising and implementing a community engagement programme for Liz Clarke & Company and proposing an education strategy for ‘The Edge’, Bath University’s arts centre. In 2018–19 Frances took part in the Extend Leadership Programme and is currently a PhD Candidate at University of the West of England researching the history and future of gallery education, through participatory media.
