Inko was born in Kyoto, Japan. She grew up with manga comics, loving both reading and drawing them. After graduating from Kyoto University of Art and Design, she moved to England and studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. She has been working as a manga artist delivering workshops in schools, galleries, museums and libraries around the UK, including the British Library and Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). She is now working as a culture and language ambassador with the School of Oriental and African Studies.
