John Reeve

John Reeve teaches on the Museums and Galleries in Education MA at the Institute of Education, University of London, and was previously Head of Education at the British Museum (1982-2003). He was chair of GEM (Group for Education in Museums) until September 2011, is a trustee of Strawberry Hill House, and advises foundations, museums and galleries in the UK and abroad. He was co-editor and contributor to The Responsive Museum (Ashgate Press, 2006) with Vicky Woollard and Caroline Lang. He edited the catalogue for the Sacred exhibition at the British Library (2007) and wrote A Visitor’s Guide to World Religionsfor the British Museum Press (2006). His chapter on religion in museums appears in Museums, Equality and Social Justice (eds. Sandell and Nightingale, 2012), and The Lives of the Mughal Emperors will be published by British Library later this year. (Updated 2012)
