Roz Hall

Roz Hall has worked in the field of socially engaged arts practice for over 20 years. She conducted an Arts Council funded doctoral programme of action research, from 1997 to 2000, at the University of Central England and Jubilee Arts in West Bromwich, exploring young people’s informal uses of digital technology. Amongst other outcomes, the research generated an evaluation process, which is based on participants’ articulation of what is valuable. Roz has continued to use and develop action research approaches to evaluation and aims to embed ongoing reflection into organisational practice and systems. She also develops creative approaches to evaluation as a means by which people can reach their own conclusions as well as contributing their feedback, thereby nurturing a more inclusive process. Roz is a visiting lecturer at Birmingham City University and is on the editorial panel for The Journal of Arts and Communities. (Updated 2011)
