Thomas Goddard

Thomas is recognised nationally for his work in education, receiving the inaugural Marsh Award for Excellence in Gallery Education. He received a Creative Wales award from the Arts Council of Wales and represented Wales at Standpoint Futures, an established programme of visual art development residencies for emerging artists who are based outside Greater London.

He has created community-centred public art projects with Forest of Dean Sculpture Trust; Somerset Art works; Meantime, Cheltenham; Take A Part, Plymouth and Locws International, Swansea.

Recently his work has been exhibited at Kunstalle Charlottenborg, Copenhagen; Graft, Lancaster; Set, London; Up-On Live Art Festival, Chengdu, China; URRA, Buenos Aires, Argentina; and as part of Selected VI, a Touring Film Programme nominated by Jarman Award shortlisted artists — Whitechapel Gallery, London; Watershed, Bristol; Nottingham Contemporary. He was the inaugural artist filmmaker in residence with BBC Wales.

Goddard was nominated and selected for Survey – a major exhibition presenting works by 15 early career UK artists in 2018/19 touring to Jerwood Space, London; Bluecoat, Liverpool and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead.
