Wendy Gallagher

Wendy Gallagher initially trained as a nurse at Manchester Royal Infirmary and went on to work abroad with autistic and deaf children. She returned to education as a mature student and studied for a BA Hons Modern Art at Manchester University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Further and Higher Education and began her career as a lecturer in art history. In May 2004, Wendy joined the Learning and Engagement team at the Whitworth Art Gallery and Manchester Museum, University of Manchester as Aimhigher Greater Manchester Art Roadshow and Open Minds Coordinator, a post that aimed to raise both the aspirations and attainment levels of 14-19 year olds. In 2008, Wendy took up a new role as Arts for Health Programme Manager at the Whitworth Art Gallery and now also works across the Manchester Museums. (Updated 2012)
