Cap Stories – part of Welland: A Festival of Joy

Welland is Calderdale’s first festival of wellbeing, created for the town of Elland. It is a free event that aims to help people live well for longer by providing creative, inspiring, and inclusive activities that bring people together.

This year we are including a special art installation and workshop run by our Associate Artist, Alice Bradshaw – Cap Stories.

Mini artworks inspired by local people’s memories of Elland are being created inside recycled bottle caps to create a brand new installation, which will be unveiled at Welland on Saturday 8 June!

Anyone can contribute to the work either by creating their own bottle cap art work, sending us their stories, or both! There are opportunities to get involved before the main festival as well as over the weekend itself. We’re particularly encouraging local children and young people to tell us what they imagine Elland to be like in the future and create their own artworks from this!

This event is open to the public.
