About the programmer

Emma Moorby

Engage Conference 2019 Programmer Emma Moorby is a freelance consultant offering programme research and development, project management and evaluation services to the cultural sector. Before becoming freelance Emma worked at the UK’s largest children’s reading charity, BookTrust, focusing on universal and targeted book gifting programmes for children under 5 years. Prior to that Emma was Programme Director at Children & the Arts working with a wide range of arts and cultural organisations across the UK to forge partnerships with schools and children’s hospices in their local area. These partnerships provided access to arts and cultural experiences as both audience member and participant, for children and young people who might otherwise miss out. Through both professional and personal experiences, she has seen first-hand the transformative power of the arts and culture, something that she believes all young people should have access to.
