Families are invited to attend the children’s art workshop on the RWA forecourt, where a fire engine will be parked between 12:00 – 1:30pm and fire fighters will be available to talk about their work and give advice on fire safety.
In the artist-led workshop, children are invited to make their own fire engines, fire fighter helmets and flames. They can also contribute to the Art Wall at the entrance to the galleries with their fire drawings for other visitors to see.

The workshop coincides with the new RWA major exhibition, FIRE: FLASHES TO ASHES IN BRITISH ART 1692-2019, brings together a number of important artworks on the theme of fire.

No booking required – families can just turn up between 12:00 – 3:00pm and enjoy discovering the power and creativity of fire; sparks, flames, smoke and ash.

This event is open to the public.
