Imagined Landscapes

Join us for a special Mini Makers session for Children’s Art Week, inspired by the theme of Literacy and Creative Writing.

In this session we will be using the book ‘Cheer Up Your Teddy Bear’ by Cressida Cowell, and in particular the illustrations by Portsmouth based illustrator Neal Layton, to inspire us to make mixed media collages.

We will take inspiration from our favourite picture books, along with our favourite people and places, to create an imagined landscape. Just like Neal Layton, we will use photographs, magazines, drawings and found materials to create a picture which tells a story.

This session will be all about using your imagination, developing communication skills and inspiring a love of reading! We’ll also have lots of fun cutting and sticking from materials found around the house and garden.

This workshop forms a part of our Aspex at Home programme, and can be found on our Instagram account @aspex_takepart and our blog.

This event is open to the public.
