Inspiration in Art

Have you seen Poole Museums online exhibition, ‘Alchemy: Artefacts Reimagined’ by Ann-Marie James?

The ‘Midas’ series of artwork was inspired by writing from a Roman poet named Ovid. His texts told the stories of ancient myths. The artist made her artwork by creating a silkscreen — this is where paint is pushed through mesh onto paper. To stop the paint going all over the paper, stencils are used which allow the paint through in certain areas.

What book, poem, or piece of writing is your favourite?

Use this for inspiration to create a piece of artwork using an art medium of your choice.

This event is open to the public.
