Join the Free Drawing School online on Monday 29 June at 10:00 am with artist Rachel Pimm. Rachel works with sculpture, video and performance to explore environments and their materialities, histories and politics often from the point of view of stuff such as plants, minerals, worms, water, gravity or rubber. They have an MFA from Goldsmiths and were 2019 writer in residence at Whitechapel Gallery. Rachel came to Hospitalfield in 2016 as part of the Summer Residency.
On Mondays at 10:00 am The Free Drawing School will announce a different drawing challenge each week for you to get involved with at home between 10:00 am – 12:00 pm guided on Facebook event page by an artist.
This challenge is a collage challenge. You’ll need:
- Paper to print the templates or paper and a pen to draw your own (window?)
- Download a copy of the template from here or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like a copy emailed or posted.
- Scissors or a knife to cut with (or you can rip)
- Tape or glue to stick
- Any old stuff lying around —old magazines, pressed plants, bits of waste. I have plastic to embellish the ‘glass’ but food packaging would work well! Stickers, newspapers, old bills…
Furhter details of the challenge will be announced at 10:00 am on our webpage and social media. We can’t wait!
The Free Drawing School is made possible with generous funding support from The Robertson Trust and The National Heritage Lottery Fund.
This event is open to the public.
