Join City Arts for a one-day symposium exploring participatory arts practice in the digital realm. This event, the fourth in a series of Digital Participation Expeditions, will look at the subject from the perspective of young people living in the East Midlands.
At this free event, you’ll hear from organisations and workshop leaders who are using digital technology to co-create art with young people. You’ll meet and speak to artist for whom digital tech is central to their work. We will discuss what it means when we talk about ‘digital participation’. You’ll also have the opportunity to get hands on with tools designed to inspire creative thinking: including VR, AR app filters, game design software, animation software and more.
Light refreshments provided.
About the Digital Participation Expeditions
My Creative Future is the fourth in EMPAF’s series of Digital Participation Expeditions that look into the meaning and use of ‘digital participation’.
At these gatherings, EMPAF partner organisations are exploring examples of good practice in digital participation. The organisations are looking at the work of inspirational digital artists, taking part in participatory digital workshop and initiating debates about the role new media plays in our society.
Who should attend?
This event is aimed at people and organisations working to engage young people in the arts. We have scheduled it on a weekend so that young people are able to attend. We encourage delegates to invite young people aged 13–25 that they work with to attend.
