International Perspectives

Engage members and regional colleagues are invited to join London Reps for an Area Group Meeting exploring International Perspectives at October Gallery.

In collaboration with the Winston Churchill Fellowship, this session will hear from a variety of fellows discussing contemporary best practice exploring innovative learning practices in and outside of the gallery setting.

Visiting countries all over the World from Germany, the Netherlands and throughout the USA, fellows will present their research ranging from how to engaging diverse audiences, new approaches to museums, to asking the bigger questions – do museums matter? London rep Daryl Wells will also share her work in integrating restorative justice principles with art education in the USA.

The evening will finish with an interactive element where participants can join in with discussion and debate and their will also be an opportunity to see October Gallery’s latest exhibition, Nnenna Okore’s Ụkwa Ruo Oge Ya Ọ Daa – There’s a Time for Everything.

The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust is an organisation that offers UK citizens to travel overseas to bring back fresh ideas and new solutions to today’s issues. The Churchill Travelling Fellowship gives people the opportunity to maximise what they can achieve in their lifetime, both as leaders and role models to inspire others, but also in personal development terms. The meeting is an opportunity for all colleagues working in galleries, museums and education to catch up, network and help plan future events in the London.
