Penparcau Progressive Action Group

Engage Cymru, Aberystywth Arts Centre and Ceredigion Communities First worked in partnership to devise and deliver a participatory project with Penparcau Progressive Action Group a group of adults recovering from strokes and living with a number of disabilities.

The social aspect of the project was as important as their creative skill development. Working with the Arts Centre tutors, the group developed new skills in photography, ceramics and textiles which they aimed to develop further beyond the timescale of the project.

The group created a show which was shown at the Arts Centre in February 2013. As a result of their inspirational 'can-do ' approach to learning challenging new skills, the group were awarded the Age Cymru Gwanwyn Award at a prestigious ceremony on 8 February 2013.
