Foundation Phase case study: Gwynedd

Project summary

44 children from the reception unit visited the gallery. Every child then attended eight sessions with the artist back in school. At the gallery, children talked about and sketched their favourite art works. A range of visual and creative activities was planned relating to what the children had enjoyed at the exhibition; including printing, drawing and painting. Key themes were colour, landscape, light and dark. Parents were encouraged to participate throughout the project. The project was documented by the nursery assistant. At the end of the project, parents were invited to a celebratory exhibition of work and photographs.
